Examines Chinese textiles made for and used by the ruling elite of China. This work presents 77 Chinese textiles that are arranged and discussed in three groups such as: clothing and furnishing fabrics made for the ruling elite; Chinese silks found beyond the borders of the empire; and, textiles made for Daoist and Buddhist liturgical use.
