Comparing life today with 50 years ago, this book focuses on one modern family's home with "I remember" panels featuring an older member of the family reminiscing about her/his home 50 years ago. It describes cooking; doing the housework; having dinner; washing up; and washing clothes. On the right-hand page of each spread is an archive photograph of an equivalent activity as practiced in the 1940s and 1950s. The easy-to-read, dual-level text is intended to help children to identify the differences between past and present. The book includes notes for parents and teachers.
