Children and dogs can be the best of friends, and good for each other in so many ways. Many adults will fondly remember a childhood dog who helped them through a hard time simply by being there as a constant companion they could confide in without being judged, or curl up with when they needed comfort.
Spring 1940. Maisie Dobbs is asked to investigate the disappearance of a local lad, a craftsman working on a government contract.
