The Good Soldier is the 1915 novel by the English novelist Ford Madox Ford. Just before World War I The Good Soldier is the tragic tale of Edward Ashbunham and his seemingly perfect marriage. Based loosely on his own personal life and mistakes the novel develops naturally through flashbacks.
Produced in 1917 for US servicemen going off to war in Europe, this is a pocket-sized vocabulary book, containing everything a soldier would need to know in the trenches.
